Recognizing Sensory Processing Challenges and Empowering Your Child: Dr. Amy Wheadon

Andover SEPAC is excited to host Dr. Amy Wheadon on the important topic of Recognizing Sensory Processing Challenges and Empowering Your Child. This parent workshop is focused on recognizing and understanding sensory processing challenges and discussing the impact of sensory processing on children and families. In addition, this workshop will discuss OT support strategies that are part of the educational model and target ways that parents can help empower their children at home for increased confidence and overall well-being.

Amy Wheadon, OT, OTD, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, YES has been a pediatric OT for 24 years.  She is a graduate of Boston University Sargent College and NEIT, where her doctoral research focused on using high-intensity exercise as a change agent for improved sensory processing and enhanced occupational performance in pediatric clients.  Amy is a private practice owner, a novel program founder, and a children's book series author. Amy has presented at schools, professional associations, and national conferences for over 10 years and is passionate about continuing education. Amy's mission is to empower children with sensory processing challenges to enhance self-awareness and become self-advocates. Amy is a fitness enthusiast and a mom to 3 teenagers and a rescue pup.
